Tropical World, at Roundhay Park, will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland for its annual spectacular, taking place from tomorrow until Sunday, with fake snow, presents and decoration-making.

The centre is home to a wide range of animals, including butterflies, birds, fish, reptiles and monkeys – all getting into the festive spirit, including DJ the bearded dragon, pictured above with keeper Kerri Middleton, 18. Tropical World mascot Mango the Meerkat will be handing out presents on behalf of Father Christmas to all children who come along. Visitors will also be entertained by a steel band during the event, which runs from 5pm to 8pm.
