The celebrity chef held a demonstration for students at Leeds City College’s Printworks Campus yesterday and officially opened the catering and hospitality training facilities.
The new campus – on the site of the former Alf Cooke’s Printworks at the junction of Black Bull Street and Hunslet Road – includes training kitchens, bakery and butchery teaching facilities, a commercial training restaurant, deli, hair and beauty teaching facilities, commercial salons, a refectory, library and student services.

Hide AdHuw Southcott, head of hospitality and catering at the college, said: “We were delighted to welcome back Brian, who is one of our former students, to see our brand new training facilities.
“It was a great opportunity for our students to watch a live cookery demo and learn from one of the country’s most respected and popular chefs.
“I’m sure the experience will provide real inspiration to the students and staff alike.”
