Video: Yorkshire Festival of Cycling at Harewood House

YORKSHIRE has got a taste of the Tour de France as racers sped past Harewood House which is part of the race route.

Cyclists including former Tour winner Oscar Pereiro were at the famous stately home yesterday for the filming of a promotional video.

It is being produced for the Dare 2b Festival of Cycling which is being held at the 18th century building in July to coincide with the race passing through the grounds.

Seven miles into the opening stage of the Tour, which begins in Leeds, the route will take competitors through the Harewood House estate.

The festival will be held at the same time but will also become an annual event.

The promotional video will also feature Olympic silver-medal winning cyclist Lizzie Armitstead,

from Otley ,and cycling TV presenter Ned Boulting.

The Yorkshire Festival of Cycling will allow people to camp in the grounds of Harewood House, get within touching distance of the riders, and enjoy a vast array of entertainment, shopping, food and drink, running and cycling events including following in the Tour riders’ tracks by joining ‘led-rides’ to key vantage points along the race route.
