Views sought on plans for school expansions

A PUBLIC consultation will start next week on Leeds City Council’s plans to expand six primary schools to meet increasing demands for new school places.

Council chiefs say proposed new developments which could see 70,000 new homes built in the city between now and 2026 will add to existing pressures on schools.

At a meeting of Leeds City Council’s executive board, senior councillors agreed public consultation will run from February 25 to March 29. The board also approved a consultation to expand the city’s provision of education for children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties.
