Village pub takes on post office role

POSTING a letter in a North Yorkshire village promises to be much more fun from Monday when senders will be able to post their mail from a pub.

Wigglesworth Post Office based in a village south of Settle, closed on a temporary basis in December but is to reopen 50 yards away in the Plough Inn.

The service will be available on Mondays from 10.30am to 12.30pm and Thursdays from 1pm to 3pm.

Post Office field change adviser Liz Morgan said: "We apologise for any inconvenience the temporary closure has undoubtedly caused but I'm sure our customers will be delighted that it will soon be business as usual at their local post office."

Meanwhile the shutters have temporarily come down at Kettlewell Post Office, located within the youth hostel on Westgate

Customers are advised to use Grassington Post Office on Main Street or Hebden Post Office on Green Terrace.
