Virgin Media is shedding 88 staff in Bradford

Nearly 90 jobs are set to be lost at Virgin Media in Bradford, it has been announced, with a quarter of the firm’s workforce in the city facing the axe.

Staff were informed today that there sult in a reduction of around 88 roles in the city.

A spokesman said: “Where possible this will be achieved through closing vacancies and voluntary redundancies.

“The teams affected work in Broad Lane and provide back-office support in areas such as balance sheet reporting and employee services. These are not customer-facing roles. If the proposals go ahead, we will be creating a number of positions such as data integrity analysts, finance managers and more.”

A spokesperson for Virgin Media said: “We are talking with our staff about some proposed changes to the way we work, including the potential outsourcing of some back-office roles in Bradford.”
