War hero’s honour to be remembered in ceremony
A WAR hero will be remembered next month after he was awarded the nation’s highest military decoration a century ago.
A commemorative paving stone will be dedicated to Private Charles Hull at The Cenotaph in Harrogate on September 5, to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War hero being awarded the medal. It is part of a campaign to honour all recipients of the Victoria Cross during the Great War and will see stones laid in their birthplaces over the four years of the 100th anniversary of the conflict.
