Tree falls into house in Sheffield during Storm Aileen

A tree has damaged a house in Sheffield after being uprooted during Storm Aileen.

Firefighters were alerted to the incident in Grimestorpe Road, Grimesthorpe, at 8.40am today.

A crew has been sent out to the property to assess the damage and whether there is any risk.

Trees were uprooted across Sheffield during the winds, with Lees Hall Avenue in Meersbrook blocked last night because of one falling across the road.

The Met Office said there were gusts of 75mph in parts of the country overnight.

A weather warning is expected to remain in place until 10am today.
