Which councillors have the X factor?

residents are being asked to nominate council employees who make a real difference to their lives in the Wakefield district for an award.

Wakefield Council wants citizens to nominate council employees who make an outstanding contribution to their community, through their role in the council, or work they do for the community or charities, by nominating them for the People’s Choice Award in the council’s annual Pride Awards event.

Joanne Roney, chief executive of the council, said yesterday: “We are asking the public again to be involved in the awards by nominating a council employee or team who they believe has made an outstanding contribution to their community.”

People can nominate by completing the nomination form at www.wakefield.gov.uk by February 10. Nominations need to be accompanied by 500 words explaining why a team or individual has been chosen, what difference they have made and how they have gone the extra mile to meet customers needs.

Forms can also be picked up from council buildings including libraries, sports centres and markets.
