Who gets your vote for BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2012?

THERE is another odds-on certainty in British sport’s golden year – no footballer or cricketer will get their grubby, undeserving hands on the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Trophy.

To me, the key word is “personality” – not “achievement” – and it explains why this correspondent has had a small investment with Ladbrokes on the Paralympian swimmer Ellie Simmonds, the pocket rocket of

the pool, beating Andy Murray, Mo Farah, Bradley Wiggins, Alistair Brownlee, Nicola Adams, David Weir and Jess Ennis.
