Who will take over at Morrisons? Sir Ken tipped at 250/1

COMICS ANT & DEC, who front Morrisons’ TV commercials, are 1000/1 to be the supermarket’s next chief executives, according to Ladbrokes.

Former boss Sir Ken Morrison is also on the bookie’s list of people to replace Dalton Philips following his ousting by new chairman Andy Higgnson.

Internal runner Mark Harrison is the favourite at 3/1 with Aldi boss Matthew Barnes also fancied at 5/1.

Several former Morrisons men are in the running to make a return, with Richard Hodgson leading the way at 8/1 while Marc Bolland, who left to run Marks and Spencer, is 33/1 for a shock comeback.

Those who think the role may end up staying in the family can take 66/1 Chris Blundell is appointed, with William Morrison (100/1) and Eleanor Morrison (200/1) both among the outsiders alongside Sir Ken Morrison at 250/1.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “The market is wide open and we’ll be watching closely to see if anyone’s price is chopped. While Ant & Dec are doing a stellar job on Market Street, we’re not sure they will end up on the CEO shortlist.”
