‘Witness in murder trial was punched’
Ryan Russell told Hull Crown Court he had said to two men who were speaking aggressively to one of his group: “We don’t want no trouble.”
But then one of them him on the cheek. As a friend pulled him away he looked back and saw Steven Herbert being attacked by the pair before he fell to the ground. He said: “I just remember them grabbing him and punching him.”

Hide AdTwo men and a woman, Soul Humphries, 22, of Rawcliffe Grove, Samuel Jordan, 22, of Yarmouth Avenue and Tiffany Clark, 23, of Victor Street, in the city, are accused of murdering Mr Herbert in a “totally unprovoked” attack. They all deny murder. Mr Herbert suffered 11 “separate impacts” caused by “at least 10 blows”. The trial continues.
