Woman assaulted in failed drive-by handbag snatch in Hull

The victim was walking along Inglemire Lane with another woman in the direction of Beverley Road when they were approached from behind by two men on a scooter.

As the scooter drew level with the women, the vehicle's pillion passenger tried snatching the handbag from one woman's shoulder.

She managed to cling onto the bag but fell to the floor where she was allegedly assaulted by the pillion passenger.

The woman's right arm and shin was left bruised but she did not need to be taken to hospital for treatment and nothing was stolen.

The attempted robbery occurred on Tuesday (July 31) at around 2.15pm. Any witnesses are asked to call Humberside Police on 101 quoting crime reference number 16/80855/18.
