Woman dies after being hit by lorry
A woman pedestrian was killed when she was hit by a white Mercedes-Benz lorry on the southbound carriageway of the A1 near Marne Barracks, just south of Catterick Village in North Yorkshire, shortly before 2.30am yesterday.
The woman, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene. She is described as being in her early 40s and slim, with dark hair in a ponytail and dark-coloured outdoor clothing.
