Woman rescued from Sheffield flat fire

Firefighters were called to the third floor flat on Porter Brook View at 4.20am.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire was in a third floor flat, firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the flat and rescued a woman.

“Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire which was in the living room.

“The woman, believed to be in her 60s, was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation.”

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
