Woman robbed of her jewellery outside school

A WOMAN was robbed of jewellery as she waited in her car outside a school in Leeds.

Police said the 43-year-old woman, who suffered minor injuries, was robbed by two men in balaclavas outside Moorlands School, in Foxhill Drive, Weetwood, at 3.50pm on Friday. One of the men was armed with a hammer.

Police said the men made off in a blue Volvo, reg HD51 CZJ, which was driven by a third masked man. The vehicle crashed into another car on Foxhill Drive, however, and the men abandoned it and stole a red Seat Ibiza from a passing motorist. That vehicle was later found abandoned in Coniston Avenue, Headingley.

Witnesses should call 0113 241 3593 or 0845 6060606. They can also call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
