Woman trapped when bus and truck crashed in Rastrick

A woman was trapped in the wreckage when a recovery truck carrying a vehicle and a single decker bus collided.

A woman was rescued by fire crews after a crash in Rastrick.

Firefighters were called to help rescue the woman after the crash in Thornhill Road, Rastrick, just after 5.30pm today.

Crews from Rastrick and Huddersfield were joined by the technical rescue unit from Cleckheaton.

The woman was taken to hospital once she was freed.

West Yorkshire Metro reported that the 549 bus was not serving Bramston Street due to the accident, and was diverting via Gooder Lane and Rosemary Lane.
