Woman who suffered burns fights for life

The 20-year-old woman remained in hospital last night where her condition was described as "critical".

Police were called by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service to a flat in Parsonage Road in the Tyersal area of the city on Thursday.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "We were called by the fire service at 5.44pm on Thursday. She was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary with serious injuries."

She was later transferred to Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield.

"A 22-year-old man was arrested in the Birmingham area on Friday morning in connection with

the incident but he was later released without charge and the woman remains in a critical condition."

Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) are leading the investigation.
