Wonderland comes to stately home

VISITORS to a Yorkshire stately home are being given the chance to immerse themselves in events themed around one of best-loved novels of all time.

A series of interactive events based on Alice in Wonderland is being staged at Beningbrough Hall and gardens, near York. There will be mask-making workshops, the chance to play croquet with the Queen of Hearts and an opportunity to pick up a quest map to complete specific challenges.

There will also be promenade performances specially written by a community theatre group, called We Are Theatre, which will see small groups follow Alice around the gardens to meet some of the best loved characters from the book and films. The evening will be held at the National Trust property on Saturday, June 8, between 6.30pm and 9pm.
