Young man critical after Sheffield crash

A young man is in a critical condition in hospital after being hit by a car in Sheffield late last night.

The crash happened on Bolsover Street just before midnight. A 21-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

Police said this morning he remains in a critical condition.

He was hit by a silver Mercedes E220, around 60m from the Brook Hill roundabout.

Police are now appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting reference 1181.
