Zara ready for baby after the Olympics

The Queen’s granddaughter, who was a medal-winner at the London 2012 Games, said motherhood has put things in perspective, describing how her baby daughter provides comfort if she has a bad day in the saddle.

Phillips, who gave birth to Mia in January last year, said: “I don’t know whether being a mum has made me any more cautious. What it does do is put things in perspective. If I have a bad day riding, it doesn’t matter now as much as it used to.”

Referring to preparation for qualification for the 2016 Olympics in Rio she said: “That also means I won’t be able to have any more children between now and then too.”

Phillips, who has previously spoken of her struggle to re-gain her fitness after the birth, said she is not taking anything for granted, focusing on qualifying for the Great Britain team and getting good results.

The 33-year-old, married to Otley-born rugby player Mike Tindall, enjoyed a triumphant return to the circuit last year.
