The Adcocks, seeded seventh, faced Yong Kai Terry Hee and Wei Han Tan in their opening tie at Birmingham’s Barclaycard Arena, with their sights set on going further than their semi-final finish last year.
They made light work of their clash with the Singapore pair, settling straight into their match before cruising to a 21-9 victory in the opening game.
While their opponents found their feet in the second, the Adcocks soon wrapped up proceedings on court, triumphing 21-18 to progress to the last 16.
And for Adcock, more of the same is in order on Thursday as the world number seven duo look to continue their fine run of form.
“We’re pleased with how that went, it’s always quite a nervy start at the All England,” she said.
“We want to play well and just get the ball rolling with a good start. I think we did that today.
“Every tournament we go in to, we’re wanting to win it, and that’s no different at the All England.
“It’s even more so because it’s such a special tournament to us. We’re going to take each match as it comes as we always do, like at every other tournament.
“Hopefully we’ll find ourselves in the later stages, but we do have a tough one tomorrow.”
Now in its 107th year, the YONEX All England Open Badminton Championships is one of just five worldwide tournaments listed as a MetLife Badminton World Federation Superseries Premier event.
This week’s action will see the world’s best players descend on the Midlands, all challenging to take home the prized silverware on Sunday.
And for Adcock, the All England title is at the top of her wishlist as she marks her return to where her badminton journey all started.
“The All England is a really special tournament. It’s the one that inspired me to play badminton when I was so young,” she said.
“When I came along and watched, it was amazing there is so much history behind it.
“It’s a dream to win it one day, whether that’s this year, who knows, but it’s very special to us.”
The world’s best badminton players are in Birmingham for the YONEX All England (7-12 March)
