Bad Cup news for McGowan

England's Ross McGowan has dropped out of an automatic qualifying place in Europe's Ryder Cup table for the first time since finishing third in the opening event of the race last September.

McGowan, who has missed his last four halfway cuts, has been overtaken by Irish Open top two Ross Fisher and Padraig Harrington.

Winner Fisher climbs from 13th to sixth, while runner-up Harrington moves from 17th to 10th less than 46,000 behind Miguel Angel Jimenez, who is now in the ninth and last spot with four weeks to go.
