Baildon fall as No 8 Mulligan grabs brace

Yorkshire Three

Roundhegians moved into the lead with a 38-7 victory at Baildon.

The home side had gone ahead with a converted try, but Roundhegians were camped in the Baildon half and went into a 14-7 interval lead with converted tries by full-back Nathan Lowis, who finished off a good passing move, and Andy Childs, their captain and second-row, who touched down from a driving maul.

Baildon defended well in the second half but the visitors finally managed to breach their line and ran in four further tries, including two from No 8 Andy Mulligan.

With the match between former leaders Old Rishworthians and third-placed Bramley Phoenix a victim of the weather, Thornensians moved up to what is likely to be a temporary third place with a

20-10 home win over Wath.

Thorne took the lead with a penalty by Tony Chappell and a converted try by full-back Martin Taylor.

Chappell opened the second half with a penalty and converted his own try before Wath came back with tries by Simon Lines and Ash Rothery.
