Bristol Rovers v Sheffield Wednesday: Recalled Potter is aiming to finish on a high

FOR the third game in a row, Sheffield Wednesday play one of the clubs involved in the League One battle for survival.

A draw at Walsall was followed by a home victory against Swindon Town over Easter. Now the Owls visit Bristol Rovers, who are five points adrift of safety with two games to play.

Midfielder Darren Potter marked his return to the side with a goal against Swindon and the former Republic of Ireland international is looking to finish on a high. “There is a lot of competition in midfield and it’s been difficult to get in the team,” he admitted.

“The lads who have been playing have done really well but I don’t think I could have done much more last weekend.”

Potter describes the club’s overall performance as ‘unacceptable’ with 10th spot the highest position they can achieve.

“If anyone had told us, after a month of the season, where we would be now, no-one would have believed it. It’s more than frustrating. Where we are at the moment is not acceptable really.
