Busy time ahead at Bishop Burton

equestrian: Bishop Burton College holds its bi-annual horse trials this weekend (May 29 and 30) and preparations are also continuing for the FEI European Pony Championships, which the college is hosting at the end of July

The horse trials will feature BE90, BE100 and Novice classes with a cross country course designed by Eric Winter, who will also be responsible for the Pony Europeans course.

Selection trials have now begun in earnest for the European event.

Eventers will be concentrating on preparing themselves for the British Pony Championships which are being held at Brand Hall in Shropshire from June 4 to June 6.

Showjumpers are attending viewing trials in different parts of the country and will be looking ahead to the Royal Show which is July 8 to 11.

Dressage riders are also attending selection trials and preparing for the final trial at Hickstead Premier League at the end of this month.

Staff at Bishop Burton are busy too, organising a Town and Country weekend which will be held on the final two days of the competition, aimed at providing entertainment for all the family.

The European Pony Championships will run from July 27 to August 1.
