Ahmed strikes back as Yeadon collapse

Sarfraz Ahmed produced a devastating spell of 7-42 as second-placed Woodlands defeated Yeadon by 29 runs in a low-scoring encounter.

Woodlands were in danger of defeat when they were dismissed for 124 with Tim Orrell making 42, but Ahmed exploited the conditions to the full as Yeadon fell for 95.

Woodlands have 90 points and are 11 behind Pudsey St Lawrence, who beat champions Baildon by 51 runs.

Mark Robertshaw (74) and captain James Smith (48) helped the leaders to 190 despite the efforts of second team spinner Jamie Abbott (5-32).

Off-spinners Chris Marsden (4-30) and Steve Watts (3-55) wrapped up St Lawrence's victory as Baildon made 139.

Pudsey Congs' unbeaten record disappeared as third-placed Undercliffe inflicted an 80-run defeat on them.

Undercliffe made 225-6 with Ben Heritage (52) top scoring before dismissing Congs for 145. Andy Siddall (49) was the only batsman to make an impression as Shafiq Choudhry took 5-36.

East Bierley moved into fourth place with an 89-run win over inconsistent Bradford & Bingley. Andrew Rennison moved up to opener and made 69 in a first-wicket alliance of 96 with Gharib Razak. Greg Wood (71) and Uzair Mahomed (39) continued the good work in a total of 279-5.

Opener Scott Etherington batted with great determination for 86 but the rest of the Bradford & Bingley batting was disappointing as they were fell for 190.

Farsley maintained their good form with a six-wicket success over a Gomersal side that is occupying the third relegation place.

Gomersal failed to capitalise on Andy Gorrod's 60 as they made 173-9. Farsley romped to victory with 19.3 overs to spare thanks to David Syers (58), Steve Simpson (48) and Shabbir Rashid (42).

Gomersal have 47 points, one less than Yeadon and one more than Saltaire, who won the beat bottom team Bankfoot by 101 runs. Javed Umarji (72) helped Saltaire to 206-9 before Tom Hudson took 5-29.

The day's two centuries both came in Division Two. Teenage batsman Fahid Rehman made 125 as Windhill beat Keighley by six wickets, and Chris Taylor made 122 as Lightcliffe defeated Morley by 48 runs.
