All-rounder Harrison sees Farsley to victory

Farsley continue to set the pace at the top of Division One but they were made to work hard for their 16-run win at Yeadon.

All-rounder Mark Harrison was the key figure in the Red Lane side’s fourth victory of the campaign; top scoring with 50 in their 151 and taking 4-26 as Yeadon were all out for 135.

There was one bright spot for bottom team Yeadon. New Zealander Elliott Herd made 54 and took 3-42 on his debut and looks a handy recruit.

Opener Scott Richards (56no) hit his first half-century for Woodlands as they inflicted an eight-wicket loss on Pudsey Congs.

Logan Weston (48no) and Simon Mason (40) helped ensure that the good work done by Chris Brice (4-37) and Pieter Swanepoel (3-52) didn’t go to waste.

Andrew Bairstow (42no) and Gareth Phillips (35) were the top scorers for second-bottom Congs whose form is becoming a cause for some concern.

Overseas player Suleman Khan hit 124 not out – his second century of the season – as Lightcliffe recorded an impressive six-wicket win over Pudsey St Lawrence after chasing down a score of 251-6.

Jonathan Wilson (47) joined him in a fourth-wicket stand of 132. It was the second big partnership of the match, after St Lawrence’s Mark Robertshaw (122) and James Smith (71) put on 143 for the third wicket. The result sees St Lawrence drop to third place behind the unbeaten duo of Farsley and Woodlands.

Bradford & Bingley have crept quietly into fourth place after a five-wicket win over East Bierley. Ryan Cooper hit an unbeaten 85 in his first innings of the season and was supported by David Clow (57) as East Bierley’s total of 177 was passed with 13.3 overs to spare.
