Congs duo cut loose against Gomersal

Andy Siddall (127no) and Mark Gill (100) both hit centuries as Pudsey Congs made 339-4 – the highest Division One score of the season – as they defeated Gomersal by 98 runs.

Siddall hit four sixes and 17 fours while Gill struck five sixes and 11 fours as they put on 173 for the third wicket. Andrew Bairstow also weighed in with 50 from 25 balls.

Gomersal made 241-9 in reply with 17-year-old opener Andy Gorrod continuing his fine form with 80.

The win moved Congs up to fourth place on 47 points but they have played a game less than, Pudsey St Lawrence (78 pts), Woodlands (56) and Undercliffe (50).

Gareth Clough made an unbeaten 119 as Pudsey St Lawrence recorded their fourth successive win – by 148 runs over East Bierley.

Chris Marsden (55) helped take the St Lawrence total to 252-5 before taking 4-26 as East Bierley were rolled over for 104. Scotland captain Gavin Hamilton made 44.

Paceman Sarfraz Ahmed (5-27) and left-arm spinner Chris Brice (4-48) helped Woodlands to defeat champions Baildon by 19 runs. Baildon, despite 59 from Adil Islam, were bowled out for 165 in reply to 184. Andy Walker (4-48) and Mushtaq Ahmed (3-28) were Baildon's best bowlers.

Undercliffe are up to third after a 20-run win over Bradford and Bingley. Wicketkeeper Luke Holroyd thumped 55 off 29 balls as he and Ashley Metcalfe took Undercliffe to 195-7.

Bradford & Bingley lost early wickets against Kurtis Whippey (3-36) and Harry Painter (3-51) and were dismissed for 175.

Farsley's Shabbir Rashid made 101 not out as they overhauled Yeadon's 195. Yorkshire's James Lee weighed in with 52.

The top four were all defeated in Division Two. Hanging Heaton went down by 23 runs at Manningham Mills; Keighley lost by five wickets at Bowling Old Lane; Brighouse were beaten by 60 runs at Hartshead Moor and Windhill suffered a 31-run reverse against Morley.

Amjad Hussain (60) helped Mills to 203-9 despite the efforts of leg spinner Mark Lawson (3-43) and Harvey Anderson (3-47).

New boys Rob McFarlane (65) and Nick Bresnan (37) fought hard but Zeeshan Qasim (6-52) proved to be the match-winner as Hanging Heaton fell for 172.
