The leg-spinner has been replaced by batsman Tom Loten in a 19-man squad that leaves for a two-week tour on Wednesday.

Poysden, 28, missed much of last summer with a fractured skull and had only recently returned to action with New Zealand club team Burnside.

Andrew Gale, the Yorkshire first team coach, said: “We really feel for Josh as he has been so unlucky with injuries in recent times.

“Hopefully this is the end of them and he can look forward and concentrate on an injury-free season in 2020.”
