ALTOFTS and Batley improved their chances of avoiding relegation from the Premier Division by achieving their second successive victories.

Openers Alan Burton (73) and Jordan Sleighholme (40) put on 97 in Altofts' eight-wicket win at Wakefield St Michael's, who were toppled for 159 by Brent Law (4-31) and Sleightholme (3-23).

Mohammed Tahir (58), Tariq Hussain (58), Huzaifah Patel

(4-23) and Roheil Hussain (3-16) were Batley's match-winners as they beat Northowram Fields by 52 runs.

Hunslet Nelson sealed the Division One title by trouncing Methley by 179 runs.

Sohail Raz (6-8) toppled Methley for 82 after Tommy Roy (100no), Andrew McIntosh (78) and Danny McTernan (64no) led Hunslet to 261-1.

Mirfield PC clinched the second promotion place, despite losing by 55 runs to Scholes. Matthew Barnes struck 81 off 65 deliveries as Scholes recovered from 115-7 to post 237.
