Saints are so close to their first crown

Wetherby: St Chad's need just four points from their last two matches to lift the Division One championship for the first time.

Khawar Yasin (7-13) set up a six-wicket win at Wetherby that put St Chad's eight points clear of closest rivals Old Modernians, who lost at Kirk Deighton.

Gary Miles (88no) and Richard Young (59) shared a 99-run stand as Deighton overhauled defending champions Modernians' 228-8 that included an unbeaten century by Jarran Cook.

All-rounder Jamie Swales (4-34 and 48no) was third-placed Barwick in Elmet's match-winner at Great Preston, whose 44-run defeat defeat was hard on Jim Bickerdike (93).

West Indian all-rounder Ryan Hercules hammered 99 and snapped up 5-13 as Shadwell trounced Walton by 181 runs.

Richard Stephens struck an unbeaten 71 as Scarcroft bounced back from three successive defeats to beat Spofforth by seven wickets.

Andy Conboy (6-18) and Shahid Mahmood (40no) led Leeds Police to an eight-wicket win against relegated East Keswick, who have lost all their 20 league matches this season.

Promoted teams Church Fenton and Garforth Parish Church are level on points at the top of Division Two.

Garforth stepped up their bid to lift the Division Three and Division Two championships in successive seasons with a 10-wicket win against Saxton that featured an unbroken 181-run stand in 20 overs between Jamie Stockton (92no) and Paul Scott (71no).

Fenton's five-match winning run ended with a four-wicket defeat against Bilton in Ainsty, for whom Michael White bagged 4-30.

Andrew Radi (68no) and David Illingworth (65) steered Kippax to 206-5 against bottom side Crossgates, who were routed for 58 by Zak Wheatley (4-22) and Gareth Weaver (4-34).

Marcus Illingworth snapped up 5-31 and Charles Baines (59no) and Oliver Hawkridege (34no) shared an unbroken 85-run stand in Whixley's eight-wicket victory against Bramhope.
