Speaking after her victory over seventh seed Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada 3-6, 6-0, 6-0 on Sunday, Dean said: "I am very happy. It's a great experience being here, I'm quite young, I've got loads of years ahead, but to win the first time I've played here is great.

"It's unbelievable being here. Sharapova was on the treadmill next to me this morning, Mahut was on the bike as well.

"I watched Henin train. You see her on TV, but when you watch it it's just another thing, it's really exciting, I've never realized how amazing they play."
