EPL: Plans come to fruition as Sheffield Steeldogs finally tame Telford Tigers

The Steeldogs recovered from a home defeat to Peterborough Phantoms on Saturday night to sink Telford 4-2 on the road last night.
Lubomir Korhon, Arnoldas Boas (2) and Stanislav Lascek were among the goals for Greg Wood’s impressive side, who moved to within five points of sixth-placed Telford with a game in hand.

Hull Pirates - boosted by their first maximum four-point haul the previous weekend - couldn’t build on that and remain rooted to the bottom of the standings after falling 3-1 at Swindon Wildcats on Saturday before suffering a 4-1 loss on home ice against leaders Basingstoke Bison 24 hours later.
After the win in Telford, Smith said: “It’s been a long, long time since we beat Telford - the changing room was a very happy place afterwards.
“It’s never easy playing at their place, they are such a strong team but we played very well, in fact I think we could have scored three or four more. “Everyone has done their job, exactly what Woody (player-coach Wood) asked us to do in the pre-match meeting.
“We had a game-plan and stuck to it. It’s great to get that monkey off our backs.”
