The winger was absent from Saturday’s squad for the win over Nottingham Forest after gesturing to supporters following their 5-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town the week before.

The 24-year-old made eight appearances for the Reds after arriving on loan on New Year’s Day from the Premier League club.

Reds manager Danny Wilson, in previewing tomorrow’s crucial Championship fixture with leaders Leicester City, said he would not let Shea back into the squad if he felt it disrupted the harmony of the dressing room, or upset the fanbase.
