Bradford City v Dagenham & Redbridge: Jackson puts points before personalities

PETER JACKSON insists today’s meeting with John Still’s Dagenham & Redbridge is all about the players and not the managers.

The 50-year-old was in direct competition with Still to succeed Peter Taylor earlier this year before the Daggers chief opted out of the race over doubts about whether City were going to move to Odsal.

Today will be the first time the two have gone head-to-head since then but Jackson insists the game is only about the points.

Jackson said: “It is not a factor to me at all. It might be to him, I don’t know. I am desperate to get a win regardless of who it is against.”

Following Tuesday night’s defeat at Accrington, City are still searching for their first win of the season.

He said: “We have back-to-back home games now (Barnet visit next week) to try and get our season up and running. We are still a young side and still gelling together. Our average age without Guy Branston is 20-21 so we will have to be patient.”
