Late goals from Callum McGregor and Jack Grealish sealed a rather emphatic victory for the hosts as Phil Parkinson’s Bantams slipped to 12th place in the table.

Parkinson said: “We created chances in the second half, but when you waste them like we did, you get punished.

“I felt 3-0 was a bit harsh, but credit to Notts County, they seemed to adapt to the conditions better than us.”

After seeing Nahki Wells ruled out of contention due to an injury sustained in the previous match against Swindon, the Bantams struggled in difficult conditions during the first half.

They fell behind in the 32nd minute when wide-man Jamal Campbell-Ryce cut inside before drilling sharply past Jon McLaughlin.

Campbell-Ryce also chipped a shot narrowly wide, while giant Magpies striker Enoch Showunmi scooped an effort over.

The visitors’ best chance of the opening 45 minutes was fluffed by Rory McArdle, who headed straight at Bartosz Bialkowski.

James Hanson and McArdle missed decent opportunities in the second half, while Bialkowski was acrobatic in palming Kyel Reid’s well-struck free-kick away.

McGregor bagged his 12th goal of the season before Grealish wrapped up a fine Magpies victory as he slid a shot past McLaughlin.

Notts County: Bialkowski; Dumbuya, Smith, Leacock, Fox; Fotheringham, Boucaud, Grealish, Campbell-Ryce; McGregor, Showunmi. Unused substitutes: Pilkington, Haynes, Labadie, Murray, Thompson, Tempest, Hollis.
