Midfielder Evans has been included in Wales’ squad for their UEFA Under-21 Championship Group Five Qualifier in Denmark a week tomorrow.

Defender Burke has been named in England Under-20s’ travelling party to the Mercedes-Benz Elite Cup in Germany.

Both were called up for international games last month, but Burke was given permission to feature in the victory at Oldham.

Following the call-ups, the pair are now expected to miss City’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy tie with Barnsley on Tuesday as well as the League One fixture against Blackpool on Saturday, October 10.

Meanwhile, manager Phil Parkinson acknowledged he may have to consider a change in goal following Brad Jones’s gaffe in the Bantams’ 2-0 loss at Colchester – their second defeat in four days.

The former Liverpool and Middlesbrough star, 33, signed on a year’s deal last month, has lined up in goal for the club’s last three matches after replacing Ben Williams.

But the Aussie has already let in six goals, with City yet to win in his three games between the posts with the goalkeeper showing poor technique in failing to save Callum Harriott’s seventh-minute shot on Tuesday night to give the U’s the lead.

Parkinson’s team are now without a win in four matches and languishing sixth from bottom in League One – just two points above the relegation zone.

On whether he may have to make a change in goal, Parkinson said: “Yeah, I may have to.

“But we win and lose together as a team. That’s all of us. When everything’s going for Colchester at the moment, we haven’t half gifted them a first goal.”
