Second phase of season ticket sales launched by ambitious Bantams

JOINT chairman Mark Lawn has urged supporters to sign up for Bradford City’s new season ticket offer and help boost manager Peter Jackson’s budget for next term.

The Bantams will officially relaunch the cut-price tickets today, when adult supporters will be able to book their place for the 2011-12 campaign for £195 – about £8.50 a game. Further reductions are available for youngsters and supporters who choose to watch Peter Jackson’s side from the Bradford End at Valley Parade.

City sold around 6,000 season tickets last Christmas when adult prices started at £150 but had been unable to start the second phase of sales as planned in the spring due to the uncertainty over where they would be playing next season.

The delay meant the club had problems paying the wage bill in April, when all the high-earners had to be paid by cheque – meaning they did not receive the money until the following week.

Now that City, who sold around 10,000 season tickets for the 2010-11 campaign, are remaining at Valley Parade, Lawn is hoping supporters will respond to another cut-price offer in significant numbers.

He said: “I think it is another great deal for our supporters, who can look forward to a more attacking approach under Peter Jackson.

“We have secured Valley Parade, which I know is what every supporter wanted. Now, we would like as many supporters as possible to get behind us and buy a season ticket.

“We have set the manager’s budget for the season but if more fans buy season tickets than we anticipate then that will mean him having a bigger budget.”

Youngsters aged between 11 and 16 can buy season tickets for £87.50, while Under 11s go free – subject to certain conditions. Fans who prefer to watch City from behind the goal at the Bradford End will pay £150 (adults) or £75 (concessions).

Upgrades that include entry to the various corporate suites are also available.

Bantams fans wanting to take advantage of the offer have until close of business on Saturday, July 16 to do so.

After that, adult prices will revert to £275.
