Taylor quits struggling Bradford City

PETER TAYLOR will step down as Bradford City manager – after Saturday’s crucial clash with Stockport County.

The 58-year-old has decided to leave after a poor run of results left the Bantams deep in relegation trouble near the bottom of the Football League.

But, after speaking to the Valley Parade board, Taylor has agreed to take charge of the clash against relegation rivals Stockport. He informed the players of the news at lunchtime after training.

Once the Stockport game is out of the way, City will start the search for a new manager with possible candidates likely to include Phil Parkinson and Peter Jackson.

Bradford are fourth bottom of League Two and just six points clear of the relegation zone.
