Bullard's Hull City days look numbered

JIMMY BULLARD'S chances of a first-team recall at Hull City seem slim after he was left out of the reserves' game last night.

The 31-year-old was omitted from Nigel Pearson's plans during the opening month of the campaign to prevent injury scuppering any hopes of a move away.

However, with the transfer window now closed, it was thought Bullard may come back into contention as the Tigers continue to pay his 45,000-per-week wages.

Last night's trip to Gateshead by Hull's second string would, therefore, have been a chance for Bullard to improve his fitness but instead a largely youthful side was named.

It means a player whose last first-team action came in April is highly unlikely to be included in the squad to face Cardiff City in the Championship this weekend.

Hull are believed to be keen on a swap deal that would see Leicester City striker Matt Fryatt move to the KC Stadium on loan with Kamil Zayatte going in the other direction.
