HUDDERSFIELD TOWN ground out another point in a dour War of the Roses clash against Burnley.

Chances were at a premium, as was decent attacking play, but the Terriers will be happy with another impressive defensive display.

Christopher Schindler was outstanding for Town at the back in his 50th league appearance for the Yorkshire club to continue his own fine start to life in the Premier League.

Laurent Depoitre wasted Town’s best chance after being played through by Tom Ince, Nick Pope able to make the save.

Ince also curled an effort just wide, as did Rajiv van La Parra who was booked for a blatant dive when there had been no contact with Clarets defender Matthew Lowton.

Chris Wood had Burnley’s best chance with a header that flashed well wide, the outstanding Christopher Schindler doing enough to put the former Leeds United man off at the vital moment

A poor decision cost Huddersfield Town victory last weekend against Leicester City, as Elias Kachunga had a ‘goal’ wrongly disallowed for offside.

That brought deserved criticism of the officials. The flipside came at Turf Moor, as referee Christopher Kavanagh produced a fine display.

He rightly booked both Abdelhamid Sabiri and Jack Cork inside the opening seven minutes to underline he would not be standing for any nonsense, somethin that earned the respect of the players.

Then, after that, Kavanagh looked to play the advantage at every opportunity and got any major calls spot on - including the yellow card handed to Rajiv van La Parra for a dreadful dive in an attempt to win a penalty.
