Stanley games against Bristol Rovers on Saturday and Swindon Town last night were postponed after 19 players and coaches tested positive for the virus. Their next two matches have also been postponed while the whole squad and management self-isolate. The last of them was due to be at the KCOM Stadium.

The congested fixture list to squeeze the season into a shorter time-frame after the start of the season was delayed in the knock-on from the lockdown means postponements can be particularly damaging in terms of future fixture congestion.

Accrington already had a game in hand on many teams because their match in the October international break was postponed due to call-ups.

The other game to be put on hold is against Plymouth Argyle. They are due to return at Tranmere Rovers in the first round of the FA Cup on November 7.

Accrington are not naming those who have tested positive.
