Clark and Derry are among Jones’s rivals for Doncaster Rovers post
Favourites for the post are former Huddersfield Town, Birmingham City and Blackpool manager Lee Clark and ex-Peterborough United chief Darren Ferguson. Others in the frame include interim manager Rob Jones and former Notts County boss Shaun Derry.
Some interviews will take place today with Clark and Derry understood to be two candidates who will be spoken to, with Jones’s interview taking place tomorrow.

Hide AdRovers sacked Dickov over a month ago on September 8 with Jones having held the caretaker position for the past five weeks.
A Rovers statement at the end of last week read: “The board of directors are currently conducting interviews and are very impressed with the high calibre of candidates for the role.
“The aim of this recruitment process has always been to secure the best person for the short, mid, and, most importantly, long-term future, of Doncaster Rovers.”
“The new manager will be in charge for the game against Bradford City on October 17.”
Jones has presided over six matches, winning one, losing three and drawing the other two.
