Criminal charges ‘still possible’ over Leeds v Doncaster tunnel brawl

POLICE have still not ruled out the possibility of bringing criminal charges over the brawl between Leeds United and Doncaster Rovers players in the tunnel at Elland Road last February.

The Football Association is waiting for the outcome of the West Yorkshire Police investigation before deciding on any sanctions of its own.

Players from both clubs clashed just after the final whistle as police and stewards fought to restore order. The clash came on the day of Neil Warnock’s appointment as manager.

Police confirmed today that the inquiry was still ongoing.
