Doncaster Rovers 0 Cardiff City 0: Rovers frustrated at Keepmoat Stadium

Wanted striker Billy Sharp was restored to the line-up alongside El Hadji Diouf and James Hayter with Simon Gillett back from injury in a midfield trio including Brian Stock and James Coppinger.

Tommy Spurr also returned from injury at left-back with Habib Beye moving inside for Adam Lockwood, who was on the bench.

Conditions were difficult on the frost-bitten pitch but Cardiff rarely troubled the Rovers defence in the first half and the best of the chances fell to Hayter, who twice was unable to get a header on target and who also fired narrowly wide from 15 yards.

Djouf forced a great save from David Marshall at the start of the second half and Doncaster were generally on top but Sharp fluffed his one opportunity when a poor first touch let him down after he had been put clear by Hayter.

Kyle Bennett replaced Djouf in the 78th minute, Stephen McPhail having replaced Joe Ralls in the 59th for Cardiff..

Neither side, however, could conjure a match-winning opportunity and the game ended 0-0.
