Leyton Orient 0 Doncaster Rovers 2 - Hume on target as Rovers claim spoils

DONCASTER ROVERS secured their third away success of the 2012-13 campaign - with two golas in the space of nine first-half minutes giving them the spoils at the Matchroom Stadium.

Dean Saunders’ troops went in front on 12 minutes, courtesy of a crisp low shot from Iain Hume, with the former Barnsley frontman netting his first goal in Rovers colours.

The visitors then secured a two-goal buffer in the 21st minute, with Dave Cotterill on hand to net his third goal of the campaign from close range, flicking home Dave Syers’ goalbound effort.

The hosts - boasting a four-match unbeaten run on home soil ahead of the game, flattered to deceive, with Kyle Bennett coming close to a breakthrough third after the break, firing his effort straight at Ryan Allsop.

But Rovers managed to see the game out with consummate ease at the other end as they continued their promising start to the league campaign.

Skipper Rob Jones, Bennett, Dave Syers and Chris Brown all return to the starting line-up for Rovers at Leyton Orient.

They were all on the bench for the Capital One Cup exit at Norwich on Wednesday.
