Louis Tomlinson’s Doncaster takeover set to finalise on Thursday

A PRESS CONFERENCE - barring any last-minute hitches - will take place in London on Thursday afternoon to officially confirm John Ryan and Louis Tomlinson’s multi-million pound takeover of Doncaster Rovers.

The previous sticking point over image rights issues regarding One Direction star Tomlinson have been resolved, according to sources close to the deal, with Ryan and Tomlinson having agreed to purchase the shares of major shareholders Terry Bramall and Dick Watson.

It is hoped that the deal was be formalised at a press conference in the capital at 4pm on Tuesday, all being well, with a new era ushered in under former supremo Ryan and Tomlinson, who will be co-chairmen once the deal is officially completed and contracts are exchanged.

Rovers have yet to comment officially on the developments, but an announcement is expected.

The deal would see Ryan, who already owns in the region of 25 per cent of the club shares and Tomlinson purchase around 58 per cent from existing shareholders, chiefly Bramall and Watson, taking their shareholding to around 85 per cent.
