Now Paynter heads from Leeds to Doncaster

LEEDS United striker Billy Paynter looks set for a move to South Yorkshire after linking up with Doncaster Rovers for training today.

The transfer-listed forward joined the rest of Rovers’ squad for a session this morning after seeing a trial at Championship side Blackpool come to nothing.

Paynter travelled to Bloomfield Road at the start of this week with a view to a full-time move but Blackpool manager Ian Holloway ended his interest yesterday, bringing Doncaster and Notts County back into the reckoning.

The former Swindon Town and Bradford City player has no future at Elland Road after being placed on the transfer list by boss Neil Warnock at the end of last season.

He has scored three goals in 28 competitive appearances for Leeds.
