Doncaster's Heffernan to stay with Bristol Rovers

BRISTOL ROVERS have completed a deal to keep on-loan Doncaster striker Paul Heffernan at the Memorial Stadium until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old Irishman's initial one month stay with the Pirates was due to end on Wednesday, but he will now remain with the League One club until May 8.

Rovers manager Paul Trollope said: "We're pleased to have agreed that, we were pleased with his performance again on Saturday, pleased that he scored another goal and he's forming a good partnership with Jo (Kuffour).

"They're getting to understand each other and it's a major boost for us. He's enjoying his football and playing regularly.

"His sharpness is coming back and hopefully Saturday's performance is a sign of things to come."
